โครงการบริการทางวิชาการด้านภาษาและวัฒนธรรมไทย สำหรับนักศึกษาต่างชาติ มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏบ้านสมเด็จเจ้าพระยา 

มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏบ้านสมเด็จเจ้าพระยาเริ่มเปิดฉากสร้างความร่วมมือกับมหาวิทยาลัยในต่างประเทศครั้งแรก ตั้งแต่ ปี พ.ศ.2545 โดยรองศาสตราจารย์สันต์ ธรรมบำรุง อธิการบดี ในขณะนั้น พร้อมคณะผู้บริหาร เดินทางไปลงนามความร่วมมือทางวิชาการกับมหาวิทยาลัยฉงซิ่ง ประเทศสาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีน และได้เริ่มจัดกิจกรรมแลกเปลี่ยนอาจารย์ชาวจีนมาสอนภาษาจีนเป็นครั้งแรก และได้จัดกิจกรรมในรูปแบบต่าง ๆ อาทิเช่น การส่งนักศึกษาไปฝึกงานเป็นเวลา 1 เดือนจากนั้นยังได้มีการสร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือทางวิชาการกับมหาวิทยาลัยในต่างประเทศอื่น ๆ ตามมาอีกมากมาย โดยเฉพาะในกลุ่มประเทศอาเซียน และ อาเซียน + 3 ในปีพุทธศักราช 2548 ได้มีนักศึกษาจีนจำนวน 13 คนมีความประสงค์จะเรียน สาขาวิชาภาษาไทยที่มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏบ้านสมเด็จเจ้าพระยา โดยเรียนในระดับปริญญาตรี หลักสูตร 4 ปี นับเป็นการทดลองจัดการเรียนการสอนให้นักศึกษาต่างชาติเป็นครั้งแรก ภายใต้คณะทำงานของโครงการบริการวิชาการฯ ซึ่งประสบผลสำเร็จเป็นอย่างดีและทำให้สามารถเปิดรับนักศึกษาจีนมาเรียนวิชาเอกภาษาไทยในรุ่นต่อ ๆ มาจนถึงปัจจุบัน ในปีพุทธศักราช 2550 ได้มีการเจรจาตกลงรับนักศึกษาจีนซึ่งเรียนวิชาเอกภาษาไทยจาก มหาวิทยาลัยชนชาติกวางสีรุ่นแรก มาเรียนที่มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฎบ้านสมเด็จเจ้าพระยา ในสาชาวิชาภาษาไทย ในหลักสูตร 2+2 ปี และ 3+1 ปี ภายใต้ข้อตกลงความร่วมมือทางวิชาการ (MoU / MoA) โดยที่นักศึกษาจะได้รับปริญญาบัตรจากมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏบ้านสมเด็จเจ้าพระยา นับเป็นความก้าวหน้าของการสร้างความร่วมมือทางวิชาการกับมหาวิทยาลัยในต่างประเทศ ทำให้ในอีก 2 ปีต่อมา จึงเริ่มมีรายชื่อนักศึกษาจีน เข้าพิธีรับพระราชทานปริญญาบัตรร่วมกับนักศึกษาไทยตั้งแต่นั้นเป็นต้นมา
